Glass Fire maps, with perspective

During the last few weeks I have made a number of maps of the Glass Fire's progress in Sonoma and Napa Counties, both with and without select New England states that I have lived in for perspective, and posted them on social media. Initially I made these for family and friends on the East Coast so they could have a better idea of the scale of both the Glass Fire and the other fires that have burned in our area in the last five years, but they have also been helpful for local folks and those living all over the U.S. I will continue to add maps to this post as I make them. Note the dates in the legend, they are listed here with the most recent maps first. Much love to all contributing to the firefighting efforts 🙏🏼

October 18, 2020: The Glass Fire is 97% contained (hooray!) so this is the last map that I'll make in the Glass Fire series. This map combines several requests: it shows the Cal Fire 100-ish year fire history, with the fires in the last 20 years grouped into 5-year chunks.

One version is zoomed in on Sonoma/Napa/Marin Counties and includes Rhode Island for our east coast perspective. The other version is zoomed out to include Lake & Mendocino Counties and has Vermont for perspective.
